2016-17 School Lunch Changes

Meal Pricing:

On May 24, 2016, the PYLUSD School Board approved a meal price increase for the 2016-

2017 school year.

New Lunch pricing will be as follows:

  • Elementary Lunch- $2.75 (Increase $.25)
  • Middle School Lunch $3.00 (no Change)
  • High School $3.25 (Increase $.25)

Meal Charge Policy:

Students are only able to charge an amount totaling 2 lunches:

$5.50 at elementary

$6.00 at Middle School

$6.50 at High School

Once the threshold has been met- students will be offered an alternate meal of a cheese sandwich, white milk and choice of fruit &/or vegetable. It is Nutrition Services goal to feed every child and maintain fiscal responsibility. The auto-dial phone call and email for students with a negative balance will be in effect reminding parents of negative balances throughout the coming school year.

Online Meal Applications:

We are encouraging all parents to go to our webpage to complete their 2016-2017 meal benefit application after July 1st. Parents must complete meal applications annually. Paper applications will still be accepted however the online application process will be a time saver for both the parent and the district. Once completed parents will receive notification via email and hardcopy.

Safety First!

Traffic Enforcement

Please remember to follow all traffic laws as you drop your students off and pick them up at Glenknoll. Some parents have reported dangerous traffic situations and we have requested increased traffic enforcement. Help keep our students safe and avoid a costly traffic ticket:

  • Observe Speed Limits in the School Zone
  • Do not park or drop off/pick up students in the “No Parking” zones
  • Observe the Right Turn Only signs when leaving either parking lot
  • Yield for pedestrians who are already in the crosswalk
  • Parents and students: Look both ways before stepping off the curb

The bottom line....

25 means 25 (or less).

A curb that is painted RED and has NO PARKING FIRE LANE means NEVER park there unless you are driving a fire truck.

If you are going to stop your engine, please park in a marked stall or out on the street.

Thanks So Much!
